Ealing Useful Information
Have you ever been to Ealing? It is both the name of the large suburb in West London, and the London Borough in which it’s found. Much like other West London boroughs there is a very diverse culture here, both ethnically and religiously. It is known for having a long standing Irish community, which makes for some great traditional Irish pubs and bars in the area. There is also a large number of Polish people; many Poles came to Ealing as refugees during World War II, and settled here when they found plentiful jobs and cheap accommodation. As well as these two groups, you’ll find active Muslim and Hindu communities in this culturally rich area.
This would be an ideal place to stay for those visiting London. It’s an easy commute into the city, with many transport links available; Ealing Broadway is a London Underground station on the far-west end of the Central Line and one of the District Line branches; additionally, there are stops at North Ealing, South Ealing and Ealing Common. If you’re not a fan of the tube, there are other options; not only is there an extensive bus network, but also Ealing taxis available to book online or by phone. Cabs in Ealing know the area like the back of their hands, so you don’t have to!
Are you wondering what kind of things you can do for leisure in Ealing? We’re sure you won’t be disappointed! Walpole Park is a great place to start; it hosts several festivals throughout the year, such as the Jazz Festival, the Beer Festival, the Comedy Festival and the Blues Festival (to name just a few). There is also a brilliant selection of restaurants for the food lovers among you; thanks to the multicultural society, you can sample authentic cuisine from all over the world. You can practically pick any type of food on earth, and there will be a restaurant or bistro to accommodate your tastes! Lebanese, Japanese, Bengali or Polish -- you’ll find it here.
As well as the varied dining options, W5 taxis in Ealing can take you to any one of the bars or clubs in the area. There’s a lively night life here, but if you want even more options, it is only a short journey into the West End where the evenings are brimming with excitement. Whichever you decide, you’re sure to have a great time.
